SITE ASSESSMENTS, CHARACTERIZATION, AND REMEDIATION

Environmental Site Assessments

Weecycle maintains capabilities for complete site assessments, remediation, and site closure. These include Phase I, II, and III evaluations and Phase IV remediation. Phase I evaluations provide background and historical information to determine historical site usage and a regional and local overview of geology and hydrology. Phase I evaluations are conducted through compilation of historical records, public records, interviews, and site reconnaissance to determine if the potential exists for environmental liabilities associated with property transfer. Vapor Intrusion Screenings may be included in the environmental assessment to insure the site is free from harmful intrusion of vapors from neighboring sites or past use of the target property.

Phase II evaluations include subsurface investigations, building material analysis, and air quality studies, to determine if a hazardous material release has adversely affected the environment via air, soil, and/or groundwater. Weecycle’s State Certified Inspectors perform State, and Federal, required asbestos surveys to determine if asbestos-containing material is suspected. After all samples are analyzed and the resulting data is interpreted and evaluated, recommendations for remedial action or closure are compiled in a Phase II report.

Phase III includes the selection of a remedial technique, development of a timeline, estimation of cost, and direction of remediation procedures. After satisfactory levels are attained in accordance with regulatory standards, a final report is submitted to the responsible agency requesting site closure. Following closure approval, the property is available for use.

Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments typically do not require involvement of regulatory agencies and are conducted at the request of the property owner, prospective buyer or lending institution. Phase III and IV site assessments may involve local and state regulatory agencies. All site assessments involving federal agencies comply with Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) protocol.

Environmental Compliance Services

As a Colorado Certified Lead Evaluation Firm, Weecycle performs lead-based paint inspections and site clearance following HUD and EPA standards. Acting as a partner in the field of lead safety Weecycle has established a proactive standard of education for our clients and other institutions in our area regarding the newly adopted EPA regulations for renovation and LBP. Using portable XRF (Xray florescent Device) technology Weecycle can quickly and efficiently evaluate homes, and commercial facilities for the presence of lead-based paint. We can also design remediation and O & M plans, monitor ongoing work and inspect the work upon completion for clearance, to insure the safety and health of the occupants

State Certified Inspectors can perform asbestos surveys in compliance with OSHA regulations, which require all commercial building owners to notify tenants and workers of any potential for exposure to asbestos-containing material and define proper procedures to avoid exposure and prevent a release.

Operating under sound compliance programs and operation guidelines is imperative for safety of employees, the community, and the environment. Weecycle assists service industries, manufacturers, businesses, and school districts in developing individually tailored programs in accordance with all federal, State, and local requirements.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND PERMITTING

Environmental Compliance Audits

Weecycle can perform compliance assessments, compliance planning, and permit application preparation for all major environmental regulatory programs.

Weecycle can assist clients in the development of practical solutions to environmental concerns, through the use of compliance and management assessments. A complete report is prepared and reviewed with appropriate personnel to enable development of a corrective plan of action, if required. The report will document all activities, findings, and conclusions. Issues can then be prioritized and incorporated into a management plan to ensure future compliance. Weecycle can also train staff in all areas of compliance and safe operating procedures.
